Postdoctoral Position(s) in Computational Membrane Biophysics
A Postdoc position / Senior Postdoc position is available in the Computational Biology Group led by Prof. Rainer Böckmann at the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany. The successful candidate will utilize both atomistic and coarse-grained molecular dynamics simulations in the study of biomembrane organization and function and the analysis of membrane proteins involved in signal transduction or transport.
Candidates are expected to hold PhD degree in Physics, Chemistry, or Biochemistry, have a proven experience with molecular dynamics simulations (atomistic/coarse-grained) and free energy methods, and an excellent understanding of the physics and chemistry of biomembranes. Good knowledge of statistical mechanics and programming skills are advantageous, as well as previous work on force field development. The group has access to excellent high-performance computing facilities.
Interested candidates should send one pdf document containing a cover letter, CV including contact details for possible referees, and certificates to email@example.com.
Applications are invited for a Ph.D. position in theoretical and computational membrane biophysics. Projects focus on lipid-protein interaction, membrane dynamics, membrane phase transition, structure-dynamics-function relationship of channels using atomistic and coarse-grained molecular dynamics simulations.
Candidates should preferably have a master in computational/theoretical physics/chemistry, a good knowledge of statistical mechanics and programming skills. The Ph.D. student will be a member of the Research Training Group “Dynamic Interactions at Biological Membranes”.
Interested candidates should send one pdf document containing cover letter, research interests and cv to firstname.lastname@example.org.
