Public Guest Talk: Dr. David Dulin, OICE Optical Imaging Center Erlangen
The RTG welcomes Dr. David Dulin from the OICE Erlangen as a Guest Speaker on Tuesday, 23rd of May 2017.
Title: “Single-molecule studies of nucleic acids processing enzymes“
During the presentation, I will introduce the concepts of the central dogma in molecular biology, i.e. the expression of the genes into proteins, together with the key enzymes involved in that process. I will then introduce the single-molecule techniques used to study these enzymes, with a particular focus on magnetic tweezers and single-molecule FRET, illustrated by two case studies on viral RNA replication and bacterial transcription initiation. I will finally present quickly the projects being investigated here at Erlangen.
Venue: Department Biology, Building B1, Floor 00, Seminar Room Cell Biology (00.581), Staudtstraße 5, 91058 Erlangen
Time: 17.00 p.m. (s.t.) –> Drinks will be served, starting at 16.30 p.m.
